A Conversation with Larrissa

What drew you to Family Health Clinic?

I was drawn to Family Health Clinic to grow as a mental health professional, and to do that in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

What are you most looking forward to about working at Family Health Clinic?

I am looking forward to providing support for the communities the Family Health Clinic reaches.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is the dynamic of supporting the patients’ mental health along with physical health as they affect one another. The whole-person approach is positive for the patients that are served and it’s rewarding to experience

Why do you think the Family Health Clinic is important to the local community?

The importance is providing the community with a whole-person approach to both physical and mental opportunities for optimal health. I hear throughout the community the medical providers have longevity in the clinic and the Family Health Clinic has had positive impacts on their patients. I believe that is of vital importance to the community

What made you choose your specialty of Behavioral Health?

I chose behavioral health simply because as an educator I wanted the knowledge to support the students I served. My passion in life is helping others. I enjoyed learning about behavioral health immensely and wanted to continue to grow in the mental health field. I hope to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology in the near future.

Is there anything else you want to share about yourself?

I enjoy spending time as a family with my husband and two daughters. We love our farm life and livestock animals.

Larrissa, we are so happy to have you as a part of the Family Health Clinic!
