We’re excited to welcome Kristen Scheurich, PNP, to the Family Health Clinic team! With 14 years of experience in healthcare and a passion for pediatric care, Kristen brings extensive experience caring for infants, children, and adolescents. We’re pleased to introduce you to our newest Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and share more about her background, approach to care, and connection to the communities we serve.
Education & Experience
I am a board-certified Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC). My healthcare career began 14 years ago as a certified nursing assistant, and I have been passionate about caring for patients ever since. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from IU Indianapolis (formerly IUPUI) before completing my Master of Science in Nursing at Purdue University.
Throughout my career, I have primarily focused on pediatric care. Most recently, I have served as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) for the past six years, where I have provided comprehensive primary care to infants, children, and adolescents.

Why Children’s Health?
My specialty is Children’s Health. I’ve always loved working with children and their families. My passion for pediatrics began during my adolescence when I helped care for children in a daycare setting. That experience, combined with my interest in science, medicine, and child growth and development, inspired me to pursue a career in pediatrics.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my profession is building lasting relationships with families and having the privilege of watching children progress from newborns into healthy, confident young adults. I enjoy partnering with parents through every stage of childhood, providing guidance, answering questions, and serving as a trusted resource as their children learn, develop, and thrive.
What would you like future and potential patients to know about your approach to care?
I believe every family deserves to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their child’s healthcare decisions. My approach is rooted in patient- and family-centered care, recognizing that parents and caregivers are essential partners in supporting a child’s health and well-being. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where families feel comfortable asking questions, children feel safe, and everyone leaves with confidence in their care plan.
I am committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and providing personalized care that reflects each child’s unique needs and circumstances. I believe preventive care and education are the foundation of lifelong health, and I strive to empower families with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions.
I enjoy caring for children of all ages and have special interests in developmental and behavioral health, preventive medicine, and helping families establish healthy habits that promote lifelong wellness.
Why Family Health Clinic?
I was drawn to the Family Health Clinic because of its commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality, patient-centered care and its emphasis on caring for the whole family. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner student, I had the opportunity to complete clinical training at the clinic and immediately felt welcomed by the supportive team and patient-centered culture. That positive experience made the Family Health Clinic a place I hoped to return to in the future.
I was raised in Monticello and continue to call it home today. Growing up and living in this rural area of Indiana has given me a strong appreciation for the values, challenges, and strengths of the families in our communities. I hope that shared connection helps patients feel comfortable and understood as we work together to care for their children.
I am excited to build lasting relationships with the families I serve, become an active part of the community, and have the privilege of caring for their children.
